Mountain and Coastal Stock Submission Guidelines:

Email submission@mountainstockphotos.com We want to know who you are, and if you have images that would suit our site. Include your website URL (if applicable) so we can go check it out. Please DO NOT send images in your e-mail we will review your files later in the process.

After we've had a chance to review your email and possibly even website, we will send you a checklist for uploading your images to our FTP site along with a contract. We will go through your images and make sure they fit our criteria.

If we like what we see and feel your images are marketable, we will let you know and request a signed contract. Once the contracts are signed we will proceed to add your images to our library. If we don't think your images are an appropriate fit for our agency, we'll let you know, and tell you why.

Please don't submit images that are currently under an exclusive license with a commercial client or publication.

What the photographer gets:

We pay out 80% Commission to the photographer on the sale of their photos.

Photos are priced competitively.

Straight forward photo usage agreement.

Quarterly pay-outs.

FTP submissions, no burning CDs or DVDs.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for any adventure photography that is related to Mountain and Coastal life.

Please take a look at the site to get an idea of the scope of the imagery we have.

The more unique, the better!

If you have an image featuring a recognizable person, it is recommended to have a model release.

The same basic principle goes for images of private property.

We will provide model and property release templates for you use - just ask!

Mountain and Coastal Stock requires all high-resolutions submissions to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:

Images must be in JPEG (saved with minimum compression) OR DNG format.

Minimum image Size is 6 MP OR 3000px x 2000px after cropping.
Aside from strong composition, image quality is very important. Images that are not sharp and properly exposed will be rejected. Please be aware that Mountain and Coastal Stock only accepts digital file submissions - either from digital cameras or from very sharp, very clean slide scans. We do not offer a film scanning service.

Image scans with noticeable dust or lines are automatically rejected.

All image metadata must be filled out in submissions. If any information is missing the image will be rejected. If you are unsure how to add metadata to your images find out how to do so with the image editing software that you are using.

Photographers name must be in the keywords.

If there is a model release this should be in the keywords too.

Images must be well keyworded, we will send you some directions on keywording along with your checklist. The more correct keywords, the more likely your image is going to be found.

Use a color-calibration for device for you monitor. This will make sure that both you and the rest of the world see the same colors.

We reserve the right to reject any image if it doesn't stand up to our quality and cataloging standards.
